a brief thought about the Republicans choosing Keyes

I think their thought process was like this:

"We probably don't have a chance in hell to beat this Obama guy. Let's think big. I know! Keyes! We're at a hundred to one to win this thing, but if he wins, think of what he'll do for us, Mr. President. And if we can't st--, uh, win it, we can just call him a right-wing nut.!"

"It's the perfect plan, Karl Get to work!"

"Yes sir, Mr. President."
