One of the biggest Ironies, yet...

I read a couple LTTEs and articles this morning from Freepers who are so concerned about the second amendment that they keep harping upon the rights of 'Merikans to keep ALL of their weapons so no Despot can come along and take over. They want to be able to rise up and defend 'Merica from a catastrophic revolution- one in which the whole fabric and tone of the country is changed, where long established ideals and policies are rapidly thrown out the window, so much so that it will take generations to restore order. This is, of course, what made America so great- where every vote counts and each citizen can have a direct effect upon governance for the common good, and civilized political debate is encouraged. All of this is essential- because this is what makes America great.

Ooops. it happened.

Remember the line in the sixties? "Suppose they gave a revolution and nobody came?" This time, the revolution has happened, and not enough people noticed it. Let's help them along.
