| Poll question: Here's a poll that's only for the Clark supporters.... |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 04:25 PM by khephra
I'm curious....
Would you still support Clark if he ran as an independent and not as a member of the Democratic Party?

| 17. That one doesn't take into account of what party he ran under |
|
and it's for the general election, not the Primaries.
I'm curious as to how much support is based on Clark reguardless of how he runs. That other poll is more concerned about the end run.

I would not support a third party candidate - especially in THIS election.

if the Dem choice is Holy Joe. So, actually, mark me in the no category since there isn't a chance Joe will get the nod.

| 10. This is a red herring--Clark has said that running as an independent is |
|
not feasible in American politics.
Also, how many Dean supporters are voting yes to spin Clark as bad for the party? They've tried everything else to discredit Clark, with no success.

but why are you asking this particular question?
I ask - because I jumped down someone else's throat for asking a similar question (and the implied accusation that lies behind it) about Dean voters. That question was ... would Dean supporters vote Dem if Dean didn't get the nomination. I think that this question has a similar undertone.
I love ya, but I would encourage you to pull out the assumption behind the question and ask if that is really a fair assumption?

I think he's going to run as an independent. It's not a slam on him or his supporters, but there sure as hell has been worse polls here. this is a very valid question. Do Clark's supporters back him no matter what party he's in? I'm not trying to start anything here. It just struck me as a question I was curious about seeing a poll on.

It should be mentioned that Clark is on my list of "Candidates I'd Vote For Without Hesitation", so even though I support Dean, I'm quite happy seeing Clark out there. The more respectable anti-Iraq War critics out there, the better.
I dare anyone to find a single bad thing I've said about Clark. Don't bother, because you won't find anything unless you take this thread as a negative Clark post, which it wasn't meant that way.

given I had asked the same of another poster.
I didn't think your intentions were such - but, it could be construed as a "see, Clark supporters aren't loyal democrats" sort of test. Just keeping equal time in my criticisms ;-)

I've been trying to stay out of supporter vs supporter fights, so this thread really was started with the only impulse being curiosity and nothing more. I hope everyone reads this and understands where I was coming from. Curiosity and nothing more.
I guess I'm just one curious cat that's lost one of his nine lives. ;-)

that I am a bit surprised by the votes. Wierder yet is the other (related poll) in which BUSH gets four votes - OVER clark as an independent.
Some strange goings on on the boards these days.

because 3rd party candidates: A: Never have a chance of winning, and B: A vote for a 3rd party candidate would only enhance *'s chances
