I don't know why.
The government has gone berzerk. The corporations are the big dogs. The media believes that selling fear equals profit. Our votes have become malleable electrons.
But I have hope. I bed down with hope, and I wake with hope. Perhaps it is because I love. I feel. I believe. I dream.
I hope.
I hope you hope, too. What else is there?

'Hope,' in your context, is a big fat male cat named Boomer. I have 'Hope,' and he's trying to drink my beer. :)

I hope that after John Kerry wins by a large margin in November, the media will recognize the power of the internet, begin to re-evaluate its coverage during the past 4 years, and hopefully realize that this country is hungry for unbiased news.

either crying or cursing before slamming her laptop shut after reading TO? Hell, you've damn near convinced her to join ELF. (Feds: That was a joke.)

Without it we're hopeless!
Seriously, people like you Will have kept the hope alive...You come here to an open forum and interact with the everyday people like myself who post here and give us incentive through your writings....I was never political until the 2000 election and when I went on the internet...I realized how fragile our remnants of democracy are and I'm definitely active now, I do not want to die and leave my children in a totalatarian state that once used to be known as the beacon of freedom...

No matter what happens, we win. I have every expectation JK will win and I'm not thinking any different, but if this nation has to endure another 4 years if Boosh, the pugs are finished. I don't thik anyone in their right mind would ever vote for them again after then.

After the last three years, to actually say, "jeez, you know, I think things are gonna get better in certain ways" is like learning to talk after a stroke. We've lost so much ground that baby steps are starting to feel like miles.
But just try to stop me from taking those baby steps.
I'm paraphrasing, but I believe it was Paul Krassner who said, "Hope is essential, even if it's a placebo. Otherwise, you're living in despair, and that's worse than death."

I'm glad to know you have hope. I have extra hope today. I went out and registered people to vote tonight. The actual number of new voters was small but lots of people stopped by the table just to talk or to tell us they supported us or even to thank us for being there. It was wonderful and I feel such hope about people right now. :)

Your blog entries on Truthout last week were inspirational. I couldn't get enough of them, they were THAT good. Now we're reduced to hope?
Fuck hope. I want victory.

| 14. Can't hope this time...won't allow m'self to have any hope.... |
|
.....did that in 2000 and went bugshit after the way THAT went....refuse to allow any hope this go 'round....I hoped for the best and got the absolute worst then...this year I'll expect the worst and wait and see what we get...my cynicism will protect me from the devestation of the realization that my feelings...beliefs...love and dreams are but mere fodder in light of *another* stolen election. x(

the painful reality of daylight.
To love, believe and dream is a wonderful happening, but it is not what one has to react to in the reality of the day.
What else is there?
What most have obtained by reading your words: a semblance of reality that they may be able to plant; take root in.
Keep hoping, but don't forget to wake up. Reality will still be there even if we attempt, though various means, to make it go away.
People seem to count upon your "worded strength."
Don't let them down!
