I just posted this to my blog, and thought it was relevant. Enjoy. :)
Just one day after his quote, "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we," the man I will now start referring to as Walker, Texas Dumbass has another whopper:
"We’ve actually misnamed the 'War on Terror.' It ought to be 'The Struggle Against Ideological Extremists Who Do Not Believe In Free Societies Who Happen to Use Terror as a Weapon… To Try to Shake The Conscience of the Free World.' "
Of course, this means that he's declaring war on himself, doesn't it? Consider:
- He's an ideological extremist.
- He believes in putting protesters in Orwellian-named 'Free Speech Zones', far away from his speeches, and in fact has
recently began forcing people to sign statements of intent to vote for him before allowing them to enter his rallies, the AP is now reporting. Doesn't this constitute an attack against free society?
- He's certainly found new ways to harm our country and our people. See: Patriot Act, War in Iraq killing 900+ American soldiers and
potentially boosting Al-Qaeda recruitment, over 1 million jobs lost (and current job growth not even keeping up with population growth) and
seven million jobs below Bush, Inc. projections.
- In my mind, the terms war and terrorism are often essentially interchangable.
- I'm not quite sure what he means by "...To Try to Shake The Conscience of the Free World", but I'll take a stab at it. Maybe it means undermining international unit... maybe not.
Three more months.
