| REPUBS REQUIRE AUDIENCE TO SIGN OATH OF FEALTY TO ATTEND BUSH RALLY |
|
Is this true? I've been out of town in the boondocks for the last two weeks. When I was blowing into town, I heard on the radio that at a Cheney "rally" in Arizona, people who wanted to attend the rally who weren't car carryin' Repubs and to sign an Oath of Fealty supporting Bush. Has anyone else heard this story? I laughed out loud!

There's a copy of the pledge on DU somewhere. The pledge was that they supported B/C 04 and their names could be used in their support.

What is true is taht this did happen, in Arkansas as a rally, and since that time the Bush Campaign has issued a statement that says no oaths of any kind will be required to attend anything.
I have a feeling that, as much as we all love to hate Bush, this was not the Bush campaign's idea, but something some crazy Arkansas people did.

| 4. I think Cheney tried it out and it got too much bad press. |

It was a trail balloon that failed, so they had to issue a statement they weren't going to do it again.

who wanted to know the race of the photographer from the local newspaper, don't kid yourself, this was the administrations idea all the way. They can't give a speech unless everyone in the audience agrees with them.. it's pathetic

Like I said, I've been out in the woods at a "Dude ranch" and have not had my daily dose of craziness. I wish they had the net there so I could get linked in!
