About my freeper co-worker (again)

I have posted about this man before. Major Republican fundraiser, etc. Big time racist. I have talked with him many times about dubya, as he formerly liked to bait me into "bashing" our great leader. For the last few months, he has had that "deer in the headlights" look of a person experiencing major cognitive dissonance. He won't debate national politics anymore - he knows he will lose on that one. We are in extreme NW Indiana, close to Chicago, and his new thing is about Obama. He is apoplectic that Obama is doing so well, especially since he doesn't have an "American name". He is going crazy that even his sister in Oak Park is pro-Obama. He asked me this question today: "Wouldn't you want a real African American like Keyes in the Senate instead of someone who is half-white"? Unbelievable. But I guess that is what they have come to. I always use him as my barometer for how neo-cons are feeling.

In addition, it's funny that he is always in my cube at work. There was a time when he wouldn't speak to me.

Just pathetic. Another blow to his ego happened recently when he was demoted in favor of a woman from the dreaded northeast. He has no power in the company. And as long as he is coming to me, I'm cool. I would consider it very much a coup to convert him. I kinda feel sorry for him. I've been watching him for the 8 years that I've worked there. Good news: no more anti-Clinton emails. Life at work is sweet, for that reason.

He is a veritable fountain of opinion about interracial marriage too. . . I'm sure that rankles him about Obama. He's a piece of work, believe me. To give you an example: We are both graduates of Notre Dame. His ND degree is something that he takes great pride in. I got a free ride there as a teaching assistant. He let me know right away that I didn't have a "real" degree because I was obviously recruited on affirmative action.

14. I talked to a freeper today

I also live in Northwest IN., My husband and I visited a friend who is backing Bush and he is from Iran and wantes Bush to invade his country because he is a Christian and all of them had to leave about two precent of the population. I asked him how are we going to fight One Hundred Million people if we start more wars there? He didn't have an answer.
Of course we went into other subjects about this administration and I was surprised how informed I was Thanks to DU.I never thought I could argue Politics it is easy if one has the facts.

16. I'll give another example of who this person is. . .

I work for a large music retailer. We put out a bunch of catalogs. In one of them, last year, there was a large typo that we were laughing at. On the same page was a photo of a group of kids of all colors and nationalities playing in an orchestra. Another co-worker was showing it to him. The typo that we were laughing at was in the print at the bottom of the page. His response? "I know, why do we always have to be so PC?" He missed the point. All he could see was that picture of a diverse group of children having fun together. And he thought that was too "PC".

Barack, btw, comes from the Swahili "Baraka" which means blessing. It's a beautiful name. I'd be curious to know what your co-worker's name means, if anything. He probably has no idea.

25. Racism is a loser strategy

Racism is a strategy resorted to by losers. And these days, racists can lose their jobs if they advocate it in the workplace. Keep a diary. Every time you hear a racist comment in front of witnesses, make a note of their names in your diary and be sure to mention the event afterwards, to help cement it in their memories.

You say he is apoplectic about Obama. Good. Feed his apoplexy. Let him have the heart attack, not you.
