| What would you do if you were in Muqtada al-Sadr's shoes? |
|
Can you to be subjective? If you were in his shoes would you insist that the US gets the hell out of there?

Of course, I'm not too sure toothpaste boy has the same definition of liberty that we do.

I would cool my sandals and wait. Understanding that the US plans to rape my country forever, I would take the fight directly to the land of the infidels. That is the one thing Cheney and his boys believe will never happen.

directly confront the US military. Maybe al-Sadr gets extra credit for creating "martyrs". He's sending untrained and unorganized youth to certain slaughter. A ragtag mob is no match for a trained and disciplined military machine.
He is correct to oppose occupation of his land. He's an idiot or worse for the waste of lives he's directly causing. My gut tells me he's worse because he's cynically and purposefully using the high death count to bolster his political standing.

said that the US military had the OK to fight in and around that most holiest of shrines that is in Najaf. But, if they do, they could insite the entire Shiia world. So far, we are holding back.

I don't think it's a matter of 'holding back' or not 'holding back'.
There are some problems that simply can't be solved by application of military force, no matter how intense it is.
If you are trying to fasten a nut and bolt using a hammer, it doesn't matter if you don't 'hold back' when using the hammer. It won't work. You need a wrench.
