| What would you have thought if flight 11 had been shot down? |
|
I've thought about this a lot since 9/11. Nobody really thought about a commercial airliner ever being shot down in the US by our own military. I sure didn't! It's easy to say now that it should have been, or at least the next 2 planes, but what would you have believed if they really had been shot down?
I really wonder if I wouldn't have believed the "How did they know what was going to happen?" theory.
Am I just being dumb?

There is no way that place was hit by an airplane. But you're right. I was thinking of 93.

I've never bought the "let's roll" stories comforting as they may be. If it was shot down, then it seems a fairly reasonable action to take - you can't assume a single hijacked plane will be crashed on purpose, but when 3 others taken on the same morning have been it's fair enough to assume that the poor people on the plane are going to die anyway, shooting the plane means that no-one on the ground is added to the toll

| 3. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought flt. 11 was the first plane. |

The first one to hit the trade center building. If I'm wrong, I;m sorry. That;s what I meant.

I just assumed it was the "let's roll one" - shooting the planes down way before they reached the twin towers might not have been a great idea - unless the others hit their targets it would have been hard to convince people that the hijackers were intending to crash them - the vast majority of hijacks end up landing peacefully somewhere.
But if whoever made the "fire" decision actually knew the plans were to crash them into buildings then I would have supported it.

I wouldn't have had too much of a problem with them shooting it down. It's cold, but necessary.

against the Capitol would be symbolic. WTC, Pentagon and Capitol where supposedly the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE RESIDES hasleft the rest of the world knowing why these trgets. I only said what I said in accordance with strategy and tactics. I would still like to know if there were really passengers on the planes crashing into the WTCs and how in the HELL amateur pilots were able to center onto to the towers. Considering speed (velocity, altitude, ground speed, width, heigth of buildings, engine braking, turning speed and distance, etc.), how did plane and building meet?

Think what President Gore would have done. You really think he too would have just sat for seven minutes? Or anyone normal for that matter.

a commercial airliner ever being shot down in the US by our own military?
Then how come there were plans in place to do just that in case of a plane highjacking?

if flt 11 was shot down, i would have been skepticle.
After 11 hit the WTC, I would have supported the downing of the other flights and thought. "God that sucks, but it is nevertheless the right decison to make." I would have respected the admin for making such a hard decisojn in a timely manner.

| 14. According to BBC news on that day......one of the planes |
|
was shot down. The fourth plane believed to be heading for the the Capitol, that ended up in a field. In the UK it was always reported to have been shot down, to prevent further carnage.

.. I never for a second thought that it was not shot down. Think about how fast jets are scrambled when a little private "off course" plane gets into the wrong airspace around washington. Usually when they are 10's of miles away.
