We are drowning in entertainment, with 500 channels of garbage to chose from. No time to get informed or to think about the issues facing the country. And it's human nature - we do it to ourselves. Probably a bunch of rats in a cage would press the "entertainment" button all the time too, instead of the "theory and function of cats, 101" button.
