Cheney caught with his pants down using the word sensitive today. Read the last paragraph were he say's we need to be sensitive in Najaf.

VP: It is good to be on here.

HH: Today you brought attention to John Kerry's plan to wage a more 'sensitive'
war on terror. What do you think John Kerry meant when he said 'sensitive,' Mr.
Vice President?

VP: Well, I'm not sure what he meant (laughing). Ah, it strikes me the two words
don't really go together, sensitive and war. If you look at our history, I don't
think any of the wars we've won, were won by us being quote sensitive. I think
of Abraham Lincoln and General Grant, they didn't wage sensitive war. Neither
did Roosevelt, neither did Eisenhower or MacArthur in World War II. A sensitive
war will not destroy the evil men who killed 3,000 Americans, and who seek
chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons to kill hundreds of thousands more....

HH: Will the Najaf offensive continue until that city is subdued even if that
means a siege of the Imam Ali shrine?

VP: Well, from the standpoint of the shrine, obviously it is a sensitive area,
and we are very much aware of its sensitivity. On the other hand, a lot of
people who worship there feel like Moqtada Sadr is the one who has defiled the
shrine, if you will, and I would expect folks on the scene there, including U.S.
commanders, will work very carefully with the Iraqis so that we minimize the
extent to which the U.S. is involved in any operation that might involve the
shrine itself.

7. Dick Cheney has no standing to talk about war

He had "other priorities" when he had the chance to fight in a war that he supported almost 40 years ago. When it comes to war, I'll keep the counsel of people like Wesley Clark, Max Cleland and John Kerry.

Abraham Lincoln was extremely sensitive in regards to many issues during the Civil War, particularly in regards to the Border States. His plans for Reconstruction were along the lines of, as he said, "let 'em up easy".

Ulysses Grant did much to ease the bitterness of former Confederates when he offered extremely sensitive terms to Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. Unlike the Northern army, in which the government owned all the animals, many southern soldiers rode or drove their own animals. Grant allowed these men to take them home, though it was not expressly written in the surrender documents. He also ordered his troops not to celebrate. "The rebels are our countrymen now," he said.

I could go on but you get the point. The best commanders are the ones who are sensitive to the many issues that form wars.

After chiding Senator Kerry for days, Vice President Cheney apparently has decided sensitivity is, in fact, necessary in dealing with the Muslim world and the war on terror. On Saturday's Hugh Hewitt Show:

I'm not surprised. It's unfortunate for our troops that Bush and Cheney must always be the last to learn the hard lessons of war. Perhaps if Mr. Cheney hadn't had "other priorities" and received 5 deferments, or if Mr. Bush had done more than fly obsolete planes in Texas, they wouldn't be so carefree with their derision of those who have served or the lives of our kids who are serving now.

And it may be exactly the same phrase Harvey used.
