Is it always so news-free? I am bycotting CNN, but thought I'd check in today because of the virtual protest. I thought I might catch some bias that I could toss into one of my e-mails.
The truth is, I'm having trouble finding any NEWS of any kind in their broadcast. It's all Kobe, Michael Jackson, and fluff Olympics coverage (not done in a Sports journalism manner). Wow. There's no content to comment on, one way or another.

that's what "making" news today because CNN chose to air it. Are they the most newsworthy things happening today? That's my point. They obviously aren't, not to the exclusion of everything else.

on CNN (not Crowley, the site reporter) say that Kerry is staying off the air with campaign ads this month "to save money." That's not true, but I guess it makes Kerry look like he doesn't have enough money or support. The fact is, he can't advertise now. Did I hear right? Another thing to hit CNN on in the virtual protest if I heard correctly.

Kerry has decided to not air any ads (the DNC and PACs are still airing ads) because according to campaign finance law he can only spend $75 million once he accepts the nomination.
Same goes for Dubya (can only spend $75 mil) but he hasn't accepted the nomination officially yet, so is not bound by the cap for another couple of weeks.
Oh and I agree with the original post - the situation in Najaf, the 9/11 hearings, etc are ALL more newsworthy than the trial crap. I am so sick of all the celebrity trials!! Enough already! just report on the outcome why don't you?
