Let us compare and contrast Chavez and Bush.

Chavez: Transparent, open, respectful of Democracy,willing to obey the will of the people.Incorruptible,putting the oil resources of Venezuela to work for all the people for the first time in the history of his country.Not merely that, making oil available to other poor Latin American countries like Haiti at discounted prices over international rates.Pursuing a policy of peace and justice for all.

Bush: Totally contemptuous of our own and other people's democratic laws,always concealing his bloodthirsty policies with lies,stealing the resources of this country and those of Iraq to benefit his cronies,rigging elections, committing crimes,small and large.Faking religiosity to appeal to bigots;contemptuous of black and hispanic people and surrounding himself with yes men and women like Powell,Rice and Gonzalez;always at war with everyone and never inclined to discuss any issue with goodwill;a coward and bully threatening others without having the courage to lay himself on the line like Chavez when it mattered.

Have I done justice to this rant?I have a lot to unburden this morning.Hugo, wish you were our man!

2. From what little I know of him he seems to be such a contrast to

the usual Latin American dictators like Pinochet, Duvalier, Somoza,Menem and others who stash away their loot in Swiss Bank accounts.At least so far that taint has not stuck to Chavez.But human beings being what we are, you may have a point.

after Chavez: oil profits split 70:30 in favour of oil companies

sounds like a good business move to me. Or is it that companies are allowed to make money but governments aren't?
