The original, off-topic, posting (made to rec.music.rock-pop-r+b.1960s):

2004 Election Conundrum:

A few weeks back, a politically progressive acquaintance asked me:

"How can otherwise intelligent people vote for Bush?"

I shook my head, and asked:

"How can otherwise intelligent progressives vote for Kerry?"

She glared at me, and walked away.

Was it something I said?

And my equally off-topic reply:

Simple. Otherwise intelligent people WON'T vote for Bush; only the wealthy and the mind-bendingly ignorant will do so.

Because John Kerry is an intelligent, honorable, and respectable man with a lifetime of public service under his belt.

He did not use his family's wealth and power to get into an Ivy League university despite pitifully low test scores.

He did not stay out of Vietnam by using his family's wealth and power to get pushed to the top of a waiting list of hundreds of names to join his state's National Guard, and then subsequently go AWOL.

He did not drive every company he ever ran into bankruptcy.

He did not waste the first 40 or so years of his life getting drunk and sniffing cocaine.

His two daughters are not drunken, out-of-control bimbos with a sense of entitlement about them.

He did not lose the 2000 election by half a million votes but become president anyway due to the sleazy, underhanded tactics of his cronies in the GOP's Taliban wing.

He did not ignore several months of warnings that Bin Laden was planning a terrorist attack in the United States.

When said terrorist attack happened, he did not hide out in Nebraska like a spineless coward.

He did not lie about Saddam Hussein being an imminent threat to the United States to get us into a war in which close to 1,000 American troops have died for no good reason.

Come Election Day, a village in Texas will be getting its idiot back. So fuck you, neo-CONS!

1. I noticed he had to stop after the "walking away part" - because there is
no facts to support the re-selection of this AWOL idiot - and his rip-off of the Democratic original was pretty lame.

2. I'm interested to see if that guy will respond to what I wrote.
If he does, I guarantee you it'll be a fact-free posting!

3. "Yeah. But besides all that."
It always amuses me when they assume someone they discuss Shit-for-Brains with is as ill-informed as they are. They have been spoon fed by the likes of Rushbo and FauxNews and have no room for the facts. January can't get here soon enough for me.
