A freeper-wannabe from a local board I sometimes visit claimed that during a debate between WJC and GHWB in '92, questions for the candidates were taken live by phone and George Stephanapolous called in on a separate number he was given by debate organizers, pretending to be an "ordinary citizen" and he asked Clinton a prepared question that Clinton had a well-rehearsed answer for.
Is this true? I don't recall hearing about this.

Not a debate. Clinton wasn't there. Just Bush.
Steffy called the show.

I couldn't recall it ever happening, therefore I thought (Maybe I DID know all along, eh skittles? lol) it was bogus. My wife vaguely remembered something about a call and a controversy, but wasn't sure the details, thus the reason I posted the question here. Everybody OK now?

| 6. What does it have to do with Kerry? Sounds like typical freeper |
|
garbage. Trying to make up lies about Clinton still because they have such an idiot for a candidate. Pretty lame. Tell them to move on. Clinton remains the most popular president in recent history, and they need to run with what they got now. Which is nothing!

| 8. Isn't it funny that keep bringing up Clinton? I am sick to death of that |

and I suspect that the general voting population is too. What Clinton did or did not do has absolutely nothing to do with John Kerry.

They're trying to re-write HX again. They never like it the way it went the first time. Come to think of it, I don't know why Repukes wanna live here anyway. After all, there are more of us than them and we made most of the history along the way and what have they done other than complain and criticize? If they detest us and our country, why don't they just leave and create their OWN country the way they like it? Oh yeah. I forgot. That would require physical labor and they don't do that. And it would require a mental prowess they don't possess so I guess we're stuck with them for a while unless they can somehow bring slavery back. Oh, I forgot THAT too. They'll go kidnap some poor people from some other country and try this whole thing over again the way they want it. Good luck you SOBs.

that all the right wants to do is trot out clinton to blame him for whatever has just happened, happened long ago, or will happen
as in will they ever stop with all the clinton hate and get over it!
now, if "our side" wants to talk about clinton then by all means....

I remember all three of the 1992 debates. Not once did the candidates field questions from callers.
And by the way, the '92 debates had THREE participants. Remember Ross Perot?
