How many catastrophic successes and miscalculations can we afford?

This is a question the Kerry camp should repeatedly ask?
The problem with George Bush is that he doesn't think things through.
Now he wants to privatize Social Security. But America I ask you, Do you really believe George Bush has thought this through. Or is this just this just another one of his catastrophic miscalculations?

1. I think the phrase George W. was searching for is "Pyrrhic Victory"

and I also think that the victorious general's comment after this ancient catastrophic success was, "Another victory like that and we are done for."

2. Well it's probably more than a coincidence

That when it comes to serving his corporate masters, President Bush seldom makes a catastrophic miscalculation.

I suspect President Bush's final plan will allow corporations to elminate pension plans, and encourage workers to give Stock Brockers lots of money and get little in return.

3. I think the privatization of social security is

emphatically not a brain fart, nor is it w's idea. I'm also sure they realize the implications of going that route, and see those implications as a good thing.

THis reminds me of a bumper sticker popular amongst my friends for the last year-and-a-half: "War is not the answer".
Well, that depends very much upon what the question is.

4. He doesn't care

He's never actually needed any kind of insurance.

No matter what happens to him, there is and always will be the families' connections standing by, ready to rescue him.

Social Security is insurance and should remain insurance with everyone of us participating in the risk pool.

The obvious "fix" for the Social Security shortfall to come, is to get our fiscal house in order now. Since BushCo totally blew the Social Security surpluses that we were racking up through the '90s, by giving them to the wealthy, it's only befitting that the wealthy start paying FICA taxes on every penny of income they take in, including income on capital gains and dividends to get us back to where we were 01/19/01.

Incomes over $85K ride scot free on the backs of lower income wage earners, as far as FICA taxes go. It's time to abolish the cap on income over which FICA taxes are not collected.

That's the Social Security reform I want to see front and center. All the other proposed "reforms" are trojan horses aimed at killing Social Security altogether.

Glad Senator Clinton used the word "miscalculation"
at least three times yesterday while interviewed
by Russert yesterday.

That should be used a lot by all Dems.
