Some guy in a black hood ran onto their outdoor set, yelled something and was tackled by security. Tweety freaked a little bit, as anyone would in the same situation.

...the earlier version from the 1950's? Well, that's what happens to broadcast news journalists who get too close to the republican neo-cons and right-wing nuts. They can keep up their guard and their sanity for only so long, then they think they can take a short nap and when they wake up....BOOM! It happens just that quick. Unfortunately Chris (Tweety) Matthews is now beyond redemption. He'll have to be stabbed with a pitch-fork or maybe just a stake through his heart.

This particular charge is always trotted out, spread around like gospel, and never proven by photo or videotape.

Remember all the "reports" of protesters "spitting" on returning Vietnam vets? Never happened. Thoroughly debunked, over and over.

But you still hear this lie, even repeated by otherwise well-meaning posters here on DU.
