| Is it possible to separate Christians from "Churshians" please? |
|
People I swear we Christians (or Catholics if you insist on seperating us from "Real" Christians) are NOTHING like these phony so called bums we're seeing at the RNC.
I call them "Chursians" and ironically that's how they pronounce it too.

Heck I am Jewish and I can see the difference plain as day between TRUE CHRISTIANS, aka those who live by the precepts and these bunch of false witnsses trying to bring Armagedon in our days.
Oh and by the way, these false witnesses scare the living daylights out of me... something about just under the surface antisemitism and genocide needed at the end of days.
So yes there is a way to differentiate between your type, (and mine) from the fundamentalists... (and yes I have my cross to bear with mine no pun intended)

but protestants too who don't follow those at the RNC. Pray that those "christians" who believe * are told the truth and can handle it.

I find myself becoming kind of sensitive to the whole thing and I think it's just because I feel a little surprised and offended that the right winger "christians" think they are the only christians around.

I talked to my sister who is very "religious", not a church-goer, but studies and prays all the time. We don't normally talk about politics, but I mentioned that I'm Democrat. She gasped and said she couldn't believe it, that if I'm Democrat I might as well not even be Christian at all because of things like abortion and that's taking a life (I'm not pro-abortion, I'm pro-choice) I said and what about all of the innocent babies and other civilians who are being killed in Iraq and she said "oh well", they should just go kill them all after what they did to us on 911. Of course I said they didn't have anything to do with 911 and she didn't want to talk about it anymore. Anyway, you can get the 'gist' of the conversation. What can you say to a person at this point? I find her ideas very un-Christian. Do I need to add that she and her husband are Republicans and 'just love' George Bush?

and confusing to me that people are so caught up in the beliefs that your sister displayed. I can't understand sometimes how some people can believe that "liberal" thinkers do not have values nor religious belief. That is why I try not to judge them just pray for them to know the truth!! And, that they can deal with it. I truly believe that eventually your sister will know the truth so try not to worry too much. It's hard to know what to do so I try to fall back on the old concept of just loving them in action and feeling.
Take care

all the major spiritual figures shared a common message. It was the same message that the Greek philosophers advocated, and it is those same assumptions that form the basis of liberal ideology. If you assume that 'love thy neighbor, do unto others, feed the poor, the universe errs towards the good' are the realities, then I think you've got the spiritual stuff down and you can call yourself a follower of whomever you choose. If you're big on going to church but have no moral sense or faith in humanity, than you're a 'chursian', in my opinion anyway.

| 9. Actually it is Chriatians vs Paulians |

A lot of these so called (wingnut) Christians quote the books Paul wrote rather than the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John). They also quote the old testament, esp Issaiah. And then there is Revelations - these folks are obsessive about the end of the world, Rapture, and Armageddon.
I was raised a methodist (nothing like shrub). I also attended a wide variety of other sunday schools. The only churches I found like the criteria above were the "born again" evangelical" types of churches.
These born agains think anyone who is not saved and baptized go to hell, and that includes (esp) Catholics.

watch for the fruits of the spirit. Patience being one of them. You can see it in the eyes of the real ones, they have depth to them, they don't blink when they look at you and express an opinion. It's something I've been studying on my own for a long time. Real Christians believe in the teachings of Christ, and we know how hard it is for a rich person to get into heaven if you read them.

| 11. Well, it's up to you and your churches to start getting vocal about it. |
|
Frankly, it's hard to tell because there basically isn't a peep out of you all. Are you chastising fellow Christians who behave this way? Are you writing letters of complaint or reasoning? Are you publishing in the major media? Are you and your churches writing letters to the editors in the major newspapers? Are you reaching out to these people in these cults?
If you, as Christians, are not doing these things, then don't blame us for not being able to tell the difference.
