| In "Il Dunce"'s speech last night: The "Baltics" ???? |
|
I listened to an excerpt this morning on Democracy Now. I think he was referring to the great actions of Amurka abroad, and one of the great achievements was in "the Baltics". WTF are "The Baltics"??? I am sure he did not mean the Baltic states (Latvia, Lithuania etc. )I don't think the US has done anything there, at least not yet. I am afraid he meant "The Balkans"...Did anybody else catch this?
In the meantime, I am Xing my fingers for Bill Clinton. Whether he is politically active or not, his presence is always a comfort.

| 1. Yes! Thanks for reminding me. |

With everything else that happened, I forgot about that. I certainly did notice and meant to look it up.

| 3. that perked my ears, too |

I'm of Lithuanian heritage and know full well that not even Reagan had anything to do with their rebelling and breaking away. The courage and strength of the Polish people who broke the ice, so the speak, did way more to encourage other satellite Soviet states to break away once the SU was disintegrating from within.
I suppose the shrub knows that his base believes that Reagan, single handedly, is responsible for the fall of the Soviet Union. But then, we always knew dumbya was delusional and doesn't read history. Like he said - Don't look at the facts, just listen to the words. :eyes:

| 7. I also believe even though nobody ever mentions it, |
|
that Bush Sr. and the CIA organized the coup against Mikhail Gorbachev that brought Boris Yeltsin to power.
I remember listening to the radio at the time, and hearing that Boris Yeltsine (who was Gorbachev's opposition at the time) had just come to Washington to visit with George 1. I found that very suspicious at the time. And sure enough, shortly thereafter, Gorbachev was ousted and replaced by Yeltsin, who was much friendlier to McDonald's and Pepsi Cola.
eleny, have you ever heard anything about this?

| 6. Balkans was his dad`s failure... |
|
his dad decided that the Balkans wasn`t worth the hassle of doing something about when Yugoslavia started to fall apart-he had to take on Saddam. so the balkins turned into the "killing fields" and city after city was destroyed. finally -bill clinton- acted and the rest is history. he has babies named after him....
