I just saw the post that 999 American troops have died in Iraq. I also read that over 7,000 of our men and women have been wounded there, many of them maimed for life. All this makes me wonder about God and George Bush. My fanatical Christian acquaintances are forever gushing about George Bush and his wonderful, close relationship with God. In fact many claim God chose Bush to lead our country in these trying times. That's why they all plan to vote for him in the upcoming election.
Now, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but doesn't it seem that this dynamic duo (Bush and his god) have a lot of explaining to do? I mean, millions of Fundies are praying fervently for protection of our troops over there and yet the numbers of dead and wounded just keep going up and up, with no end in sight. I don't have a single doubt that the reason why Bush didn't have an exit strategy was that he left it up to god.
These same people have nothing but disdain for Bill Clinton. He was the spawn of Satan as far as they were concerned. Yet Bill Clinton went to war - in Bosnia. And guess how many American troops were killed in that war?
Zip. That's right: zero. zilch, nada, none. 0.
Seems to me this is pretty amazing evidence that America bet on the wrong horse. 2004 gives us the chance to put the old horse out to pasture and bring in new leadership.

An exit strategy is what would be used for liberation, not conquest.
