| "Reaching across the aisle..." |
|
I am having the toughest time accepting that all of the Democrat candidates in my local elections saying this in every interview, every debate, every...everything! "I will be able to reach across the aisle..." Here in Wisconsin, the Republican controlled state legislature has been nothing but mean-spirited; using wedge issues like marriage and the Tax Payers Bill of Rights proposed amendments, etc. Other than campaign finance reform currently being pushed by one Repug State Senator, there isn't one other single issue that I would be able to find compromise on. I don't want my Democrats to reach across the aisle; every time they do, I get screwed. 15 Democrats in the state legislature reached across the aisle to ban marriage equality and civil unions constitutionally. That sucks!
I know that these folks have to get some Republican and independent votes to get elected, but I never hear any Republican candidates say that, if elected, they would "reach across the aisle in order to do what needs to be done."

| 1. They did that in Texas also |

And the Texas Dems "reached across the aisle" so much that Texas schools are in shambles, corporate corruption is the rule and the environment is toxic.
Reaching across the aisle means the public is going to be Cheneyed.
