It's Saturday night. Let's talk about W's sexual interests.

In my experience, the people who squack loudest about other's sex lives have some kind of issue with their own. Shrub has certainly done a lot of squacking about sex. Why is that?

I don't give a hoot if somebody is gay or transgendered or bi or straight or whatever they want. I think that most people's sexual natures are determined at birth, and in any case it is none of my business.

That said, I feel like beating up on shrub tonight. He's said a lot of nasty things about my friends. He and his buddies in Congress have passed some laws and tried to pass a constitutional amendment specifically to hurt GLBT people. Hateful things were said by many Republicans, obviously at the urging of the White House.

Clues to the possibility that our president is a deeply repressed closeted homosexual who attacks others for their sexual natures because he is terrified somebody might notice his own:

1. Kitty Kelley's book apparently has some allegations about this, but I haven't read it (yet).

2. Shrub's body language with his wife is odd. Their public kisses look like second graders required to kiss in the school play. No body contact. Pursed lips. Pecks.

3. Lately shrub and pickles have been doing a lot of holding hands (still with no other body contact).

4. Butt fondling. This is simply not done. Every heterosexual man knows that you simply don't pat your wife's butt in public. This is the type of thing done by perverts or people who are trying hard to convince the world that they really are attracted to their wives. Shrub could be a pervert (I'm not ruling that out) but his whole attitude is that of a man who is trying desperately to convince the world that he really looks forward to seeing his wife naked.

There must be speculation about this in D.C. Dish!

I think he is just a freakin' kook. I don't even think his sexuality or lack there of is a factor with his behavior anymore, with all due respect to any devotees of Freud out there.

I think we need to abandon the sexual identity issue (and if for no other reason than most of us, gay or straight, will NOT want to claim him as one of our own!) and focus instead on the Religious factor.

Many of us were commenting today that the supporters of GWB behave in an almost disciple-ish way, or with something akin to religious fervor. Now that is what I think influences his behavior more than anything and it is something I find particularly scary.

Yeah, as far as the relationship between Ashe and *, I'm satisfied that it's a reality. Too much history between those two, and now Ashe is suddenly ambassador to Poland, swept out of the country just this past June? I heard the kiddies weren't too tickled about it. What is to dish, it is clear that this one person from his teen-age and college years has spent time with * all out of proportion to his importance to GOP politics. They were hanging out together when neither one of them was anybody, and they were still hanging out until Ashe was whisked off to Poland. If it was an innocent friendship, why would Ashe have to leave the country just when his best bud was campaigning for the highest office in the land, seems more likely he would stick around and help out.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the hypocrisy. I don't have a problem with * being gay, or with Lynne Cheney being gay or bi, I have a problem with demonizing actions and relationships in public while enjoying them in private.

When they had a moment of silence at 8:46 when the first plane hit WTC, the whole gang was on the WH lawn, then they turned to go back inside. * was patting Laura's butt, you couldnt help but notice it, it's ALL you noticed because it was so starkly out of place. When I'm in a time of anger, sadness, distress, etc., is when I most want comfort from my dh. A pat on the butt is an affectionate gesture and, like any affectionate gesture, is a sign of love. That love can be very comforting at times like 9/11.
