| Dan Rather had the stage tonight and missed a great opportunity |

to say what needed to be said. Although he had said some of these things before, the world's stage was on him tonight at 6:30 so why did he not say center front stage from the moment he opened his mouth that 1. the contents of the Docs were accurate, and this has not been contested, 2. that the information found in them has already been brought out by others and showed a clip/two of the information brought out before by other networks 3. and say that if the information contained in the Docs were false then the WH and the media had a duty to present the truth to the public.
This is just a start to what he could have said but Rather and CBS took the seemingly usual road they've most recently taken and issued a wimp apology when they could have shown the public some real journalism. Why pick a fight with a giant if you don't intend to/have the capability hit him with a solid knockout punch?

| 1. Who knows what kind of corporate blackmail was used? |

I do know that he is too honest of a journalist to be taken down in such a fashion. I sincerely hope that he has an ace up his sleeve.
