Bush - Kerry 9th Cousins twice removed

That's right folks today's Guardian (p15) has an article saying that Bush & Kerry are both descended from Edmond Reade of Wickford, Essex, England.

Edmond was a minor member of the Essex gentry & popped his clogs some 400 years ago.

1. Yes. And not only that....they are descended from royalty. Both of 'em.

And not only that....Kerry is a descendent of John (James?) Winthrop, a big wig who was an initial settler of Massachusetts, and the one who wrote "The City on the Hill" that was a Ronald Reagan favorite, and which Sandra Day O'Connor recited at Reagan's funeral.

Pretty ironic, isn't it?

Through the Mayflower. My ancestor was Richard Warren, and the Roosevelts also descended from him.

when they first started passing around this story, i just about died thinking i was related to bush :scared:

14. I would give ANYTHING to be 9th cousin twice removed from Bush...

Because sadly (I don't ever much admit this horrific fact) I am much more closely related to Bush than Kerry is...just four generations back on my father's side through Barbara's family tree no less. Trust me, I'm not proud. To know that my DNA swims in the same gene pool as the Spawn of Satan and his mother, Be-elza-babs, is very disturbing.
