| On CNNI a representative of the CATO institute said inre: Iraq |
|
that Bremer's prediction of tens of billions of dollars to rebuild Iraq is short-sighted. The figure will actually be along the lines of hundreds of billions of dollars,
that American taxpayers will surely be footing the bill since most G8 members had been lukewarm to the idea of invasion to begin with,
that Condoleeeza is preparing us for a "generational commitment," thirty years or more of a US military presence, not just in Iraq, but beyond, as Bush sets his sites on democratizing the entire Middle East,
that this is exactly the opposite of what the Iraqis want to hear,
that most Americans hadn't signed on for this grandiose of a commitment,
and that most Americans are now having second thoughts as they see the financial figures come in (the deaths of our soldiers apparently having had no initial impact....so much for "supporting the troops").
It's the new world order, folks. Your kids, and your kids' kids will be used as cannon fodder to fulfill the Bushies' commitment to enrich themselves.
Bush talks as though these events are all now mandated. One gets the sense that we'll be bypassing the next presidential election.

| 1. We live in strange times indeed when the CATO Instititute makes sense |
|
and they seem to be doing it on a regular basis lately, which is positively terrifying. Just goes to show how truly insane the rapturous neocon/fundie cabal really is.

I have been trying to say this all along, but no one believes that elections could be suspended altogether if they can get their spin machine to propagandize the fact that Bush will be "elected" again so there is no reason to hold elections. Think it's far fetched? Just remember if it happens, you read it here first.

After all these rightwing whackos' efforts to unseat Clinton, then steal the presidency from Gore, and now to steal Gray's governorship to control the CA delegates, they're not going to let go of all that hard-won power over a measley election.
The Bushies don't believe in democracy. They only use it as a tool to meet their ultimate ends, which is to control everybody and be richer than they already are. They are sick, sick people.

Tell the Brit's that they have to come up with 50% of the cost. Hey it was their war too. We would not have gone in there without the Brit's backing.

| 12. I'm reading "Weapons of Mass Deception" by |
|
Rampton and Stauber, about the PR and propaganda campaign they used to sell the war. Great read.
Anyway, they talk about PNAC and quote it about how the plan is to establish permanent bases in the Mid-East and elsewhere. Rumsfeld's "lighter" armed forces, I'm now beginning to understand better. He is taking the parts of the military that does supplying and other tasks and privatizing those. Which seems to be why they are not getting supplied well in Iraq. They can't protect the suppliers yet and some of those people aren't showing up to do the job.
The book says Perle and some other PNAC people also belong to something called the United States Comittee to Free Lebanon, which advocates" "overwhelming, non-surgical, nonproportional military force against" governments including Iran, Libya, Syria and Sudan."
The neacons will keep pulling Bush's strings and they will find an excuse to attack some other country next, I have the feeling. They will do it as an act of desperation to keep Bush in office and distract from his messes.

What is going right? Nothing. But the Bushies are wearing failure as a badge of honor, as though it doesn't matter to the overall scheme of their plans.
Clinton is working behind the scenes to get their asses out of the WH, but I think they're going to trump him by simply not holding elections.
If the Bushies preemptively attack another country, I think Bush will have a military coup on his hands.
Your book is #273 on Amazon. That's not bad! I'll put it on my wishlist until I have $25 worth (free shipping).
