How do the member of DU feel about the amendment that has been introduced by a California Congressman that would allow foreign born citizens run for president? What do DUers think about the recent survey of Republicans that showed that a majority of Republicans wanted Arnold to run for president in 2008?

1. I don't know the specifics of the proposed amendment.

I think a 10 or 15 year citizenship minimum seems reasonable. There's no practical difference in long term citizens, whether naturalized or U.S.-born.
