Orwell's vision has come true. CNN and Fox could announce tomorrow that for the past year and a half we've been at war with Iran, and that the Ayatollah Khomeini is on the run, and 57% of the people would believe it.

Maybe this is why rethuglicans have so vigorously underfunded education for so many years. When the American people can't read, they can't learn the truth, they can only suck the teat of the cathode ray tube. And we all know how easy it's been for them to control that medium.
