He is the candidate that will beat Bush. The others failed. Whining losers stand aside.

regarding staying the course in Iraq and bringing in the usual USA Allies to Iraq and maybe even more US troops for a few months. Drawing down the US troop presence within his first term.

| 6. In the long run Europe has no choice but to get involved in a major way. |

Look at a map. Turkey has a huge border with Iraq. The EU is slowly admitting Turkey and slowly integrating Islam into it's constellation of nationstates and cultures. One reason Bush Light went into Iraq was so Europe wouldn't basically inherit Iraq when Saddam died. Saddam already was switching to the Euro for oil transactions. Remember how Bush screwed with Turkey about launching an attack from Turkey and about what part the Turks would play in Iraq. America picked the Kurds over the Turks. America did everything it could to cut Europe out of the spoils of Iraq. At this point, the catastropic success in Iraq sure looks like a Phyrric victory on a monstrous scale. Think how much easier it would have been for Turkey slowly leading NATO into Iraq would have been?

My point is that it seems to be way late for what J. Kerry may have in mind. In fact, the way it's going there it seems implausible that things will stabalize within the time J. Kerry could be taking over the mess there. How much more will the American majority take in American troop death and maiming before they start screamin, ENOUGH!?

| 8. It may very well be way to late for what Kerry proposes |

But, who knows what the situation will be come January? That's one of the main reasons Kerry is holding his cards so close -
Zinn's editorial may be the high road, but for Kerry to take it now would be a disaster for his campaign. It would guarantee four more years of Bush.
The American majority will take a huge amount of deaths before they scream "enough". Remember Vietnam? Most Americans would see a pull out as defeat - and they won't accept defeat. That's why Kerry can't endorse pulling out before the election.

felt differently he would have said so by now. I don't think he would ever come out and say "the war was based on a lie and we must hold elections immediately and leave." But, does anyone remember we went to Iraq to remove Saddam and locate the WMD. We were not told we were going there to occupy and bomb the hell out of the country. Kerry would be a true leader if he made that plain. We were not there to be occupiers and we must leave. But, I think if he said it, he would gain votes.
But, if he truly believes we should be there, he will not ever say anything to the contrary except that he will reduce the troops and bring other nations in.
