I have a lot of empathy for what that man has been thru, BUT....

that kind of proselytizing is simply unacceptable from a member of our armed forces. The Tulsa World ran an excellent oped piece Sunday about how another officer was disciplined much more harshly for expressing political views while "in uniform". I do not want generals in my country's army going around demonizing other religions and other human beings.
