We all talk about leaving..Lets hear from parents if kids get drafted

I spoke to a friend today whom said that many of her friends are prepared to leave the country (for good!) with their kids whom are of draft able age.....

How many of You have kids that COULD get drafted. what will you do?

for the time being anyway. I'm also in good health and of draftable age. I don't know if I'll be moving back at all, actually. All of my friends consider me to be more than half European already. I prefer mayonnaise with my freedom fries. :)

I'm going to pull out all the stops for a 4-F deferment...like raising my blood pressure to 180/120 for my medical exam (lots of caffeine and running to the draft board should do it), not wearing my glasses so they think I'm blind, making them think I'm insane, etc.

Unfortunately, I have not the resources or contacts to leave the United
States.

Start moving your money out of US currency now.

their nightmare. One of the ways they will try to
stop you is financially.
Start now.

You can't move a large amount all at once-
so start with whatever you can spare on a weekly basis-
If you have a friend you trust in another country- have them
open a bank account in their name- send them
money to deposit for you so it will be there for you when you

there will be alternate means of transferring money. And I remember the limit that transactions get checked are at $10,000 dollars. If you really wanted to, I think you could wire more, it would just take longer. If you want a larger degree of secrecy involved, set up a corporation! This site can get you incorporated as a Delaware based LLC within a few days. http://www.delawareinc.com/ I met the owner a few years ago. He's a bushie, but a nice guy for being one. He told me how using corporations set up in Delaware you can discreetly move money overseas. The US govt doesn't know who controls the company because of the very favorable corporate law in Delaware.

I am leaving- I have a soon to be eighteen year old
daughter. I don't think they will draft women right away
mind you, I think they will move that direction gradually
because the public will not accept it, although who knows with these satanic minions.
However, I am certain they will draft women, one way or another.
There is no way my kid would go, so she would be looking at prison
time- since this country is no longer the country I grew up in,
I have no hesitation about leaving it. It's going to get far worse
here, not better. Not in our lifetimes.

I have no kids, nor am I and my same-sex wife likely to have any (mutual choice).

However, we both have nieces and nephews, plus other relations of potentially draftable age.

(Worse yet, one of my wife's nephews is, in fact, in Bagdad right now, in the 1st Infantry out of Fort Hood. Luckily, he's still okay.)

If that draft comes, we'll establish residency in Canada, and probably eventual citizenship.

And then if any of our young relations needs a place to live... well, who are we to turn them away?

If the rethuglicans close the northern & southern borders you can all sneak over here to Australia - Homeland Security (i.e by the way that was the initial name Adolf Hitler gave to the SS )will never work that one out. Canada will return draft age kids to the US. They'll plug that
hole, these nazis... and don't trust that it'll be there.

I would recommend to a draft age person, or parents of draft age
kids, to get thee to a nunnery. :-)

Nunnery, as in a non-american university... like in europe,
australia, china, japan, or india. You could attend university in
Finland or somewhere seemingly exotic... wait out the draft, maybe
even get an advanced degree and work abroad.

Remember that school tuition for a university abroad is like 10,000
dollars for teh whole 4 years.... much much cheaper than US tuition,
so the financial hurdles are much more sensible than you might think.

And worse case, you can return to the USA, a few years from now,
wiser, and more employable, with international experience and
connections.

Pick a university and get in NOW. Everything else, from visas,
to bank accounts is sorted out once your'e in.

BTW, someone mentioned that cash is an issue.. not. Don't use cash,
wire money to the university... (a very legal thing). Get your
bank account in that foreign country, when you arrive for school,
and, like many foreign peoples do in america, recieve a tithing from
mom and dad.... or if you're doing it on your own, get under the
table jobs to cover your living expenses.

Where there is a will there's a way. Why sit in prison when you
could get a quality education instead.
