| My BIL just got his orders to IRAQ!! |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-30-04 02:05 PM by rene moon
I am so mad and upset right now. His is currently a recruiter (which he hates) and received new orders to go to Ft. Campbell in KY. Which means he will be shipped out to Iraq. He is a infantry guy, sniper, to be exact.
I am so sickened right now, and I feel so bad for my sister.
Damn this war and damn this administration!
EDIT: His time as a recruiter is almost up---and he doesnt want to be a recruiter anymore, so that's the reason for his new orders.

they're now sending recruiters to Iraq?
Is that like a punishment for not meeting a quota? Who the hell is going to recruit new troops if they send the recruiters to Iraq?
Sorry to hear they're sending him, and I truly hope he stays safe, but this just strikes me as particularly ridiculous.

His opinion is that he has to go---it's his duty. My sister, former Army, is pissed. And there is nothing she can do about it.

I have to respect his decision. I was also in the military 69-72. Your sister will be going through a tuff time," stay by her side, you'll be a great comfort to her". Write or e-mail him often, he'll need all the support he can get. I hope he stays safe. Y'all hang in there.

calling up recruiters? My husband is trying to get out of going BACK to Iraq by becoming a recruiter. He was recently one of the soldiers told, "REENLIST OR GO TO IRAQ ASAP". And he only got back 6 months ago. He ended up reenlisting because he has been told they are so desperate for recruiters. If that is true, how can they call 'em up to send to Iraq?

she said his recruiting assignment ended. The same thing happened to my brother in law he did recuritment down in Texas until March then he was sent to Iraq but thankfully he is suppose to be back here in Nov. He is an officer, Major now and he did recruitment for a year, was over in Korea for a year etc they rotate.

She is a lifelong republican that has not voted in years, and she asked me how to get an absentee ballot.
I think she is going to vote for Kerry because of the war.

and I can so relate to your feelings..helplessness, anger, total frustration.
So far, my nephews and their father have made it ok since January. They are all MPs in a place they cant even disclose somewhere in Iraq. The more families this affects, maybe the more people like us will speak out against it.
And You are SO right, DAMN them ALL..:mad::mad:
