| Excitement about the Candidates |
|
ABC's Nightly News showed a poll that claimed that more people from the Bush camp were very excited than about their candidate than the number people from the Kerry camp who are excited about their candidate. Does anyone have any comments on the subject.
My first thought was in the form of a question. I wondered who they were talking to from the Bush camp. It seems to me that Kerry's base is probably larger and more diverse than Bush's base. I say this in that Bush has people sign loyality oaths before they can enter his events. I have even heard that people have to perform certain duties like passing out Bush literature to get in the events and get a front row seat. In the case of Kerry anyboby can come to his events. This makes me feel that a poll that asks about excitement about a candidate could be misleading in that in one case you may be talking to people who signed loyality oaths to see someone and in the other case you are talking to people who did not have to sign loyality oaths. It seems to me that Kerry has supports that are extremely excited about him and supports who support him because they do not like what Bush has done.
