| Contributing factors of the demise of the Democratic Party |
|
If you can't beat Bush in 2004 after all the obvious lies, when do you ever win the Presidency again?
The problem partly originated in 1996 under Bill Clinton and the Republican Congress....Telecomunications Act of 1996 was the bullet put into the revolver to shoot themselves in the head with.
It created the rise of "conservative" (aka fascist) talk radio. This in effect created the propaganda network needed to brainwash Joe Sixpack into voting against his own best interest. The "Fairness Doctrine" helped in making sure there was balance to the issues brought before the American people.
What does the Democratic Party stand for? Republican-lite???
The Democratic Party allowed NAFTA to come to fruition without safeguards for the working-class. The economic boom created during the Clinton Presidency was a result of the Technology balloon that burst late in 1999-2000.
You can't win elections by trying to be republicans.

By all means, we need it restored. Sinclair and Clear Channel are prime examples of why we need it back.

out of favor naturally, since, what the fuck are they going to have to bitch about? What is the controversy that will maintain the listeners interest when the shit they spout and advocate is the law of the land? Who are they going to berate? They must be asking themselves this question now.

More AAR stations means more coverage for folks who can't listen on-line. We have a glut of right-wing AM hate radio stations in Dallas - it's only a matter of time before market forces shake one out of the tree. Maybe Franken & Co. should be ready to make a cash offer when the bottom falls out of KSKY or Mainstreet.

A long time back I suggested Move-On needs to spread out onto the airways - Together, We have the finacial power to buy radio stations and run Air America. The right wing has had control of the am radio since the mid 80's when they dumped Rish Limbaugh on about 500 stations and further promoted him via ABC TV. Controlling the airwaves is very important, it is the only way to get the message out to the American people, as long as the left do not consider it important, we will continue to lose over stupid issues and misrepresentations. The over the air media is never going to give us a fair shake, we need to buy our way in. Mov e-On has the power, with almost 3 million memembers, we could afford to buy stations at strategic locations to promote our messsage.
