Pat Robertson's mid-1980s collapse was intentional and orchestrated!

Throughout the mid-1980s, it was obvious that Pat Robertson and his 3,000,000 storm troopers were on the verge of an overt take over of the Republican Party, as it looked as though Robertson would sweep Poppy out of the Primaries and easily become the 1988 presidential candidate.

Throughout 1986 and 1987, however, scandals relating to charity fraud, Robrtson's misrepresented record in the Marines, and his personal life, combined with the massive fraud of other televangelists, crushed Pat into oblivion was Poppy steamrolled him in the Primary.

I, for one, think this was intentional, as the Dominionists/Reconstructionists knew that they did not have the numbers to beat the Democrats and overtly take over America.

Instead, they've moved over the past 15 years towards a slow take over of State Republican Parties and now have their eyes set on the judiciary.

And to think, the movement started as bunch of wing-nuts who took over the Southern Baptist Convention and won a few obscure non-partisan races in the South.

4. I remember him talking about that back when I listened to him.

He said something like "We need to get into the courts to change the laws and that's how you change America". That's when he founded Regent University. He said it was to produce Christian lawyers. That's when I quit listening to him around 1989-1990. My belief in separation of church and state flag popped up and I couldn't be fooled anymore.

8. Actually He Didn't Start a Law School

Oral Roberts *gave* him a law school. Liubraru was boxed and shipped from Tulsa to Virginia Beach. I believe treatment of ORU faculty (including Anita Hill), students and alumni was abit more conditional.

5. Robertson and Falwell - great men

If the Right Wing ever gets smart and disassociates themselves from Robertson and Falwell, Democrats will be the worse for it. Any good liberal should be on her/his knees every night hoping Robertson and Falwell live long, healthy lives and stay in positions of influence on the right.

was pushing a book about the Supreme Court. Why do these people retain tax exempt status?

no state when they want and state when they want. You find it hard to win with them. I tell you it is like the old Know-nothing party. Did you see that show on this stuff on CNN? Really something.
