Socialist Utopia?"
Yikes. I didn't see this coming.
Connie Wilkins of
Free Dominion, a Canadian copy-cat/wannabe website modeled after
Free Republic, just got some major face time on CBC Newsworld (CBC's 24hr news channel).
With a crowd of about 2000 people on Parliament Hill as a backdrop (protesters are still gathering for protests this afternoon), Ms. Wilkins was interviewed for about ten minutes on air, explaining why they love Dubya, why they support the war in Iraq, and why the RCMP gave their crowd of about a dozen "Creepers"
their very own private "grassy knoll" from which to wave at the motorcade as it drove by. (Turns out there could be security issues when these folks are left alone among pot smoking, effigy-burning, peace loving, Raging Granny socialists. So they got their own special "area", sans chain-link fence.)
She did, however, give
Free Republic an on-air plug (gasp), explaining how these are their brothers to the south, how their organisation is modelled after them, and how they're not nearly as radical as the average American freeper.
Overall, she conducted herelf in a rather dignified manner. Even our right wing freaks seem to have the "soft touch".
