today? Why aren't we and the rest of the nation raising hell about what is going on in Iraq? Even the soldiers are beginning ask hard questions and we can't even get the WH Press corps to ask follow up questions.

Just ask any honest Republican (when you find one) what would he are she be doing and saying if Clinton were the President doing exactly what Bush has done with circumstances exactly as they are now with foreign and domestic situations. This administration is really GUILTY of "high crimes and misdomeaners" and treason. They have not only compromized the safety and security of this nations but the world in general by the invasion of Iraq and its subsequent occupation. Bush is pressing his luck by supporting Rumsfeld. I think this may be the straw...but it all depends on whether or not the media allows Rumsfeld's statements today to "live or die."

I understand in 'Nam it was quite common on patrol, also. Lots of VC were using the same ammo and AK47's as the Yanks. (F*cking M-16's jammed, VC wouldn't pick em up off dead soldiers in the field.)

5. Some Dems ARE raising HELL!

Mr. KUCINICH.

Mr. Speaker, nearly 1,300 brave American men and women have sacrificed their lives in Iraq. Yet the central reasons for the U.S. invasion have fallen apart: Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, there is no proof that Iraq was instrumental with al Qaeda's role in 9/11, and Iraq was not trying to get nuclear materials from Najir.

This administration misled the Congress, misled the American people, violated international law, directed the bombings of populated areas causing the disruption of water, sewer, and electrical service, ordered house-to-house fighting, and now, the civilian toll, by one account, is over 100,000 Iraqi civilians perished. Why?

Freedom, if it is to be obtained anywhere, must be advanced under the standard of truth. The Iraqis will not be handed freedom based on lies, nor will our own Nation preserve our freedoms if we continue to accept the basis for our occupation of Iraq.

This administration must be held accountable under international law for the disaster it visited upon Iraq. Only the truth can clean the stain on our Nation's conscience. (my bold)

9. We have been raising hell

but the media is not listening.

My local stolen elections group has written to our paper every day since the election, but they just refuse to cover the voter fraud stories.

We demonstrate twice a week at a heavily traveled intersection. One day for the stolen election, one day against the war. No local media have covered the demonstrations.

And on a national level, Michael Moore did raise hell in the best movie to come out in years.

But here we sit, 6 months later, with the same disgusting people running our country.

Makes me want to :puke:

But I will continue to raise hell every chance I get.

10. Rumsfeld's remark "you go to war with the army you have"

should piss off everyone that will admit this was our war, started on our time line and with no pressing need to rush it, in fact, to have it at all.

11. My local news is actually making a big deal about this

They're generally good little Bushbots, so I can't tell you what a satisfying evening this was...they devoted tons of attention to what the soldier said, what rummy said, what the Hell rummy meant, what the reaction was from the Pentagon, from his family (his ex-wife, who supported him), from other soldiers (vets of the same unit, who supported him), and his own commanding officer (who said it was a legitimate question). It's the top story and he's being made into a local hero. They keep replaying that wonderful clip of his question and the roar of support from the other troops.

And on top of it all, I got to watch the 60 Minutes story about the deserters...ahh, what a wonderful ending to the day.

Boiled down, Rumsfeld essentially said war is messy and unpredictable. Is that so remarkable ? Consider the state of our military on Dec. 7, 1941 for comparison.

NBC, CBS and ABC all led with the story. The News Hour had a lengthy segment. NY Times ran a blistering editiorial, Maureen Dowd ran a scathing opinion piece. The media has been all over this story. Just pay attention. You can't miss it.
