NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.said on Wednesday it is planning a children's video service for cars in 2006, a year later than it had expected, using software from Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O).
Sirius, which provides subscription based satellite radio services for a monthly fee, said last year it would offer video services by mid-2005. Spokesman Jim Collins said timing depended on automakers rather than Sirius' capability.<snip>
The Federal Communications Commission said it would look into the concept of satellite radio companies providing video but Sirius said is not aware of any regulatory issues surrounding its video plans.
Sirius said it is planning two to three video channels with programing aimed at children and expects to launch a service in the second half of next year.<snip>
