| I'll believe in God when he does something about Bush |
|
Dear lord show me a sign, smite the evil in our midst before it destroys your glorious creation.
Ditch Bush Pronto!
Amen.

The only thing these "Christians" fear is poverty, but that'll work. That would get Cheney's attention.

We "elected" Bush, we have to live with him. I personally think that it could be god's way of teaching us a lesson.

| 10. "we" elected Bush? Who is this "we?" |
|
I voted for the other dude. The poor who suffer for the Bush policies overwhelmingly voted for the other dude.
There is no "we" in this world. God needs to get better aim if he can even be bothered to exist at all.
Yes, I'm bitter. And for cause. God has a lot of explaining to do as far as I'm concerned.

As the Neville Brothers say, "Everybody better wake up, superpowers better wake up....wake up!"
If those Berrigan Brothers were around, they could explain it better than myself.

| 19. I don't believe God teaches lessons |
|
I believe God just is (if he/she is). Any lesson we might learn about God or spirituality or harmony is because we didn't know it before, that's all. It's like learning about anything scientific. We didn't create it, we just uncovered a fact that was already there.
So what each person might learn about God or spirituality as it relates to Bush, would probably be different. I learned that when there is true evil in the world, you must make a clear and concise stand against it. People don't yet clearly see the evil, or there would be much less bickering about confronting it. From all sides.

God gives us free will. If we kill ourselves of our own free will, we deserve it. Period.

| 7. OBL's Pre-Election Message |
|
Everyone remembers Osama's pre-election tape that was released days before the Shrub once again defrauded his way into the White House, right? Well, what do you think he was saying when his statement "The power of the American people to stop themselves from being attacked is in their own hands, not in the hands of Shrub or John Kerry?" He meant that if the people were stupid enough to elect the Shrub, that would be their demise, duh, because he knew one way or the other, election or not (since he knows the Bush family so well-we all know that, it's common knowledge by now) George WMD Bush would be the president again. I say "their" since it is not fair for all of us to suffer for these right-wing nut jobs. I say that he can have them all-just leave the rest of us people who respect humanity and the right to freedoms alone.

| 11. God "allows" such evil...for a purpose |
|
"The authorities that exist are appointed by God: See also Daniel 4:32; Psalm 75:6,7.
"Paul does not suggest that God approves a corrupt government such as we have today, ungodly officials like Bush and Cheney, or unjust legislation like gay marriage etc.
"Sometimes, however, in punishment for the sins of a people, or for other reasons known to Him, God allows evil rulers to have authority for a time, as the OT prophets frequently testify. Ideally, God grants authority to serve good ends (vss. 3, 4). How that authority is exercised will be the accounting of each to whom it has been given."
Bush is in BIG trouble.

| 15. We have an amazing gift, it's called free will. |
|
Unfortunately, along with that gift come the consequences of bad decisions. This is not a stage down here. We're not the actors and God is not the director.
I believe that God is saddened by the terrible decisions that people have made and will continue to make. I'm not a believer in the notion of the grand plan

| 20. Yeah, me to. There's "God" and then "the Universe." |
|
At a certain point, the Universe through its local representative GAIA (the world spirit) is going to have enough of our bull shit and do a number on us, i.e., eco-catastrophes. If "God" wants to protect the franchise, he/she/it will step in pretty soon...send us some signs, some real news media, some e-whistle blowers.
I'm afraid we're alone. Might as well pray for a space ship with superior beings to show up like The Day the World Stood Still.
Fun to think about it anyway. Great post.

might be that we have this belief that God enters into human affairs- either by intervening or not intervening.
Perhaps God just is, and that it is our god consciousness that is required to bring about change?
Belief is one thing. It is second hand. Consciousness, or experience, is quite another. Two different worlds- and I think it is important that we get the order correct.
