Uh, GONZALES was born in San Antonio, TX. Perhaps the misspeak was regarding ESTRADA who came from ANOTHER COUNTRY, albeit from an upper economic and social class.

1- I have never flamed or bashed good Democrats in general and DEAN in particular, so let's clear this part off the table.

2- GONZALES may well be a devilish TOOL, but he's not as old AS the devil, so he was not born when Texas was a country.

3- The real point about DEAN's quote is that he was not up to speed on GONZALES's background, therefore, "off" on what is really wrong with GONZALES (the torture and the TOOLism). It also shows a lack of connection to the coming Hispanic role, lack of "getting" the nuances of what is the difference between ESTRADA and GONZALES. He is the father of the theme of trying to connect to Red State America, and even mentioned Mississippi in today's interview, and as I recall, he speaks better Spanish than Shrub and GORE, yet he flat footed on GONZALES. This might lead to an even more flameworthy premise, whether DEAN is up to speed enough for the chairmanship he is seeking.

Let's start from the beginning: Yesterday, there WAS no transcript. And I'm 99% scrupulous about providing links where there are some. AND for MOST of my record I am pretty good at hearing accurately and repeating what was said.

That said, while I have already acknowledged seeing the transcript provided, I am at a loss to explain the HUGE discrepancy with what I STILL think I heard. Saying I WANTED to hear it is not nice. That, further, said, ---------call me a conspiracist---------
I do NOT find THIS scenario totally impossible:

Geo S.: Governor, you might want to review things: It was ESTRADA, not GONZALEZ, who was born outside of the country.

It's either this or I need an ear exam. But in the meantime, you can either accept or reject my acknowledgement of the transcript. It ain't necessary to malign. And rehashing what might have been settled previously ain't gonna go nowhere either. I can see ONE "jeeezzzzus" of outrage, but proceeding to another thread and wailing, "jeeeezzzzzus" again smackest of sweet martrydom. An alternative might have been to copy and paste the previous thread and say a correction had occurred, not wailing "jeeeessssuzzzz" again and again.

based on your misunderstanding, or on your insistence upon flogging him for a misstatement, then you should redact in BOTH THREADS in which you wrongfully malign Dean.

Robing Wright was saying that the Iraqis expect 60% of those eligible to vote TO vote on the thirtieth... ~"which is the same percentage that voted here (looks to Hayes) in November so yeah that will be credible"~
