| Anyone watching MTP? Seems the new Iraq gov't can't order us out. |
|
Something about the laws the government has to obey. Neoponte (sp) is on lying like crazy. Doesn't know how many Iraq police have been trained. Says the laws the new government must operate under can't throw out the US. Says everything is fine. The insurgants are old Sadal followers who are working with al Quada.

I can't believe that the local networks have cancelled all talk shows and they are doing a 24/7 on the big snow up here (as if no one ever saw snow before).
Useless banter, ridiculous, embarrassing interviews with people who don't want to talk, newscasters freezing their asses off in each of the five boroughs to give "on-the-spot" assessments of SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! WIND! BLIZZARD! STAY HOME! TAKE THE KIDS SLEDDING! BUY YOUR DOG A PAIR OF BOOTS!
Broadway is open. Matinees are still scheduled to be performed. These actors are like mailmen.."Neither rain, nor snow, nor...."
They really don't have to do this stuff 24/7. They could take an hour's break! SHEESH!

| 8. I actually called ABC to complain about no "This Week" |
|
Asked if ABC News Now would run it -- she said no, they're running football -- I reminded her that ABC News Now is their new 24-hour cable news outlet, and that CNBC reruns Meet the Press in the afternoon -- why can't ABC's 24-hour news channel, ABC News Now, run "This Week?"
She hung up on me.
Note to ABC: now the world knows how you treat your high-end target audience for news -- with utter contempt.

| 12. You should fax this complaint to |
|
the news department and any higher ups that you can find. It may not mean a damn thing but then again it just might.

It's because we're there for their own good. (Yes, sarcasm). We can't let the government rule themselves until they and we are good and ready.

| 9. The Post Iraq Election Spin Begins |
|
Most of us on DU have known this occupation wasn't going to be scaled back when we heard that 14 permanent installations had been built last year. This is a page from the Vietnam era, where Johnson and then Nixon claimed we were there at the "invitation" of the Vietnamese people and that until the country was "safe" we owed the people, not the government in power, the obligation to stay and kill them.
This regime now has spun lemons into lemonaide...tying Iraq's insurgents into one neat bundle and putting the Al Queda label on it. They didn't need much, this is just re-spreading the misinformation that lead 70% of Americans to think Iraq was involved with 9/11. Many still do. Many still think Iraq had WMD. Nothing that is shown them will prove otherwise, since that is an admission this regime is criminal.
Just remember all the sunshine Bremmer blew up Russert's ass and onto the airwaves...winning all those hearts & minds. This is the start of this regime's concerted effort to focus Iraq on anything but them...Iran, Al Queda, the UN...and if they see profit by votes or money in more adventurism, they know there's no one who will seriously question them. These are very dangerous times.

| 10. Last night on the Tim Russert show that comes on CNBC late at |
|
night, he had Gregory, mickey-lo-chef-ski, and the cute guy on. they all went on and on about the incompetence of Shrubco from day one regarding the war on terruh, etc. Timmy, joining right in, all talking like intelligent, thoughtful people. I had to turn it off, with my head screaming: Gore! Tan clothes!! Kerry! Voted for the...then voted against the...!! Where would we be if you creeps/whores had acted intelligent and thoughtful BEFORE the elections? They got us into this. Now they are intelligent.
