WAL-MART SAYS IT WILL CLOSE ITS STORE IN SAGUENAY, QUEBEC WHOSE WORKERS ARE CLOSE TO BECOMING THE FIRST EVER TO HAVE A UNION CONTRACT WITH THE GIANT RETAILER.
HERE IN B-C, THE UNITED FOOD AND COMMERCIAL WORKERS UNION HAS BEEN TRYING TO UNIONIZE WORKERS AT SEVEN WALMART TIRE AND LUBE EXPRESS DEPARTMENTS AROUND THE PROVINCE.

FAWKES ADMITS THE CONTINUING DELAYS MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR THE WORKERS INVOLVED, WHO BECOME FRUSTRATED WITH THE UNCERTAINTY, BUT SAYS ITS A NECESSARY PART OF THE PROCESS.

F*ck Wal Mart!!! Let's see the entire damned nation of Canada unionize. They can't afford to surrender that large of a retail market. I wish something similar would happen here in the USA.

Wal-Mart Canada's website claims 235 Canadian Wal-Mart stores and 6 Canadian Sam's Club stores.

That's probably fewer total stores than there are in Texas--I know it's fewer Sam's stores than there are in Texas.

Being a woman and an atheist, I'm offended twice personally, and once more on behalf of all my immigrant friends and neighbours.

Yikes, there are some pretty weird old versions at that site. One particularly Imperial set of lyrics was apparently composed by John Buchan, Lord Tweedsmuir, a Governor General of Canada in the early 20th century. He wrote The Thirty-Nine Steps, which was made into a couple of movies, one by Hitchcock.

The French (original) lyrics are possibly worse ... full of swords, crosses and religion ...
