| Jeane Kirkpatrick Came, Anne Coulter is coming |
|
I posted a couple weeks ago that Jeane Kirkpatrick was coming to town to give a lecture. She came yesterday, got sarcastic with any question she didn't like, belittled (sp?) the people who asked the questions, and basically re-affirmed that at close to 80 years old, right wing lunatics are as vile as ever. I also found out that in November the next guest speaker will be Anne Coulter, everyone's favorite lunatic. I'm going to be going to that one as well, and I don't think I'll be holding back as much as I was for Kirkpatrick (couldn't help it, she's a walking skeleton!). I asked Kirkpatrick about WMD, post war Iraq and other related questions, and quite expectedly she responded by talking out of both sides of her mouth, first saying that UNSCOM found WMD years ago, then that they didn't have enough time to look the last time. She ended her answer to my question by making reference to some airplane found buried in the dessert. Anyone have a link about it? I remember hearing about some CRASHED airplane found buried in the sound, but don't know the details. I know the organizer of the circuit the speakers are coming to, and I'll be asking him to invite Wesley Clark and Al Franken. Any other recommended guest speakers?

But he wanted too much to come out and speak. Also, since Clark has announced he's running for president, he's out of the possibilities. I'd love to see Conason, and do have good news. Clinton's chief of staff is on the speakers list, so all hope is not lost.

| 5. Molly Ivins was going to come to my town |

She had to cancel. Hopefully will reschedule for next spring. It was a benefit for our state ACLU, which I think she does regularly -- I think I read that in one of the announcements.

| 4. Kirkpatrick: "Social Democrat" |
|
Does everyone know that she is a "socialist"? Interesting. She was a "Schachtmanite," which was a subsidiary of Trotskyism among eastern intellectuals, who so grew to hate Stalin that they morphed into an unprincipled alliance with the right, then became rightists themselves. She's an original "neo-conservative." "Marxist" in origin, hellbent on imperial domination for her chosen social system.

| 7. I read her Wikipedia bio |
|
It says she is one of the original Neo-cons, former marxist/socialist and that she became disollusioned (sp) with the Democrats under Carter. After hearing her speak, I can see no resembelence to her former self.

That my thread titles cannot be blamed for the thoughts of your dirty mind :D. As a matter of personal preference, I don't really see Coulter as homely, and I can't imagine anyone seeing the 77 year old Kirkpatrick as anything but.

| 11. Eric alterman is a good speaker |

So is Mark Cripsin Miller(Bush Dyslexicon). I saw Millers One man performance in NYC. He was excellent. It was a mixture of a lecture and a stand up routine.
