Stupid but nevertheless serious question.

I know this is going to sound silly, because it really should be common knowledge, but after the Pontiff's death. After all the funeral stuff, where do they bury him?

Underneath the Bassilica (sp?) in the Vatican. There are caticombs under the complex with the graves of I think every pope.

5. in the old days the popes would have some artist make their

tombs. Used to drive Michaelangelo crazy. Tombs are always made ready for each pope.

6. I visited the catacombs (crypts)--the Cryptis of the Popes as they are

called several years ago. there is some debate as to whether or not St.Peter-the first Pope was/ks actually buried there and it seems some have been moved but the vast majority are buried at St. Peter's
