8. I love Schweitzer but he was just elected Governor, he can't run in '08

This guy is truly what the party needs. He's a progressive Democrat who won in a dark red state during a presidential election year. Unlike Dubya, he actually does ride a horse and doesn't do that shit just for photo ops.

The problem is that in order to do that he would have to start campaigning in 2006. Starting a presidential campaign in the middle of a governorship, especially in your first term, is a great way to piss off your home state and look like an opportunist. I wish that it wasn't this way but it is. I'd support him in a heartbeat in 2012 (god forbid that I'd have to) or 2016 but 2008 is not realistic.
