CIA/Pentagon: No WMD in Iraq
In an addendum to its September 2004 report, the head of the Iraq Survey Group (ISG) has announced that the search for WMD has "gone as far as feasible" and found no evidence that WMD were moved to Syria. According to Fox: "After more than 18 months, the WMD investigation and debriefing of the WMD-related detainees has been exhausted." Vice President Cheney disagreed with its conclusions last year.

CIA's Final Report: No WMD Found in Iraq

Washington - In his final word, the CIA's top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has "gone as far as feasible" and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion.

"After more than 18 months, the WMD investigation and debriefing of the WMD-related detainees has been exhausted," wrote Charles Duelfer, head of the Iraq Survey Group, in an addendum to the final report he issued last fall.

I am polite and do take into considerations other people's limits--but I am persistent, very persistent. Over the past few years, especially since 9/11 but before then as well, I've become increasingly vocal to my friends and coworkers about the REAL THREAT posed to us by the fascist criminals who have hijacked our country. Of course, I'm talking to people who know me--not total strangers for the most part --although that also happens occasionally. There was dead silence in the room. I was being completely serious and they knew it--but it frightened them a little to hear it said.

Deep down they know it is true and it frightens them. And, indeed, why wouldn't it? For if what I've been saying is true--and day after day the evidence makes it all the more clear--it means the dawning recognition that WE ARE PRISONERS in our own country.

We, the citizens of the United States, are a captive people. Our government has been manipulating us for a very long time--deluding us into believing that we had real power to change things, peacefully, and as a result of civil discourse. Many of us, and more each day, have come to see that THE WEALTH OF OUR NATION IS SYSTEMATICALLY BEING LOOTED by a rogue band of elitists interests; all under the banner of a completely fallacious "war" predicated on a socially traumatic historical event which, at the very least, the ALLOWED to occur. We are talking about people who we are told we must respect and yet more and more evidence comes to light every day indicating that they are traitors and murderers--criminals of such a high order that we have no name STRONG ENOUGH to represent the rage and disgust that we would rationally and reasonably express toward those WHO WOULD DARE to rule over us without our willing and knowledgeable consent!

Yes, pitch forks, torches. We should be making our presence felt WHERE EVER THEY GO. Peacefully, of course; but they must not be allowed to think, ever, for even one moment, that we will allow them any longer to continue this charade without cost.

As Mahajan argues, “Wade through the more than 3000 pages and one conclusion is inescapable: those of us who opposed the invasion of Iraq were right on every count.” No WMD, no Al-Qaeda connection, no yellow cake uranium from Niger, no nuclear weapons-related aluminum tubes, no mobile biological weapons laboratories, no “unmanned aerial vehicles” that could threaten the US. Instead, the President and his aides slyly relied on amazingly inaccurate (mis)informants like “Curveball” and Ahmed Chalabi, forged documents, distortions and fear-mongering, to both drag the country to war, and to place the blame, once their lousy occupation plans went awry, on intelligence agencies.

The anti-war movement knew all this long before the US invasion. The evidence was overwhelming. Appeals to the facts appeared futile. The whole post-9/11, post-war-gone-wrong “review” process is surreal given the baldness of this same mountain of facts readily available to any and all of us. We knew this was an administration bent on war with Iraq years before it came to power (as evidenced by PNAC), and eager for a pretext once it took office (as claimed by Richard Clarke and others).

“We told you so,” satisfying as a comeback on the playground, is however cold comfort for those suffering from the still accumulating damage of the war.
