| Why does it matter if Bolton is at the UN? The bushies have no respect |
|
for the place and whomever they put in will lie, cheat and steal in any way they deem necessary to achieve their evil goals. The only thing the opposition to this appointment does is take away some tiny minuscule, modicum bit of power from the little tyrant's grasp.

| 18. Yes, but I believe that John Bolton has just too many people.... |
|
...in Washington DC pissed off at him and I believe he is basically evil, being several standard deviations to the conservation right of even Attila the Hun. I wouldn't even attempt to name a substitute, but the people will know who is acceptable when Bush/Condi pick her!
Bolton is most definitely out though. Bush could and probably will assign him to another post, but he ain't getting the U.N.

| 2. He is being sent there to destroy the U.N |
|
because it is too inconvenient to listen to them when we want to go conquer a country.
Apparently, Cheney, et al have a lot of confidence that he is capable of destroying it.
It would be better, imho, to have someone who is not quite so successful at destroying institutions and fictionalizing intelligence data to suit his end game, so I'm all for trying to stop the madman.

| 7. It might make it more difficult if they can't have the Walrus |
|
They seem pretty keen on his ability to offend, lie, cheat and bully.
Even if they are forced to get someone marginally less good at being an asshole, that's something.

Look at the other idiots & killers who've gotten appointments. Perhaps we can stop just one.

how and why we think it makes a difference to their ultimate goal. Perhaps slow it down a bit?

| 6. Bolton has a prepared smear campaign of the UN if we attack Syria... |
|
or Iran. He's there to derail any opinion the UN may have of any action by the US.
He's essentially the inside Zealot that they didn't have before.

us. I don't want the likes of "kiss up, kick down" Bolton representing me. And it's an insult to thinking Americans to be represented by "Is the children learning" George W. Bush.

cut from the same power-hungry cloth and will do evil where ever they are. I guess it is just a matter of how much and where they do it.

that would never happen under Colin Powell.
Besides, Bush must think Bolton will make a difference. That's why the party is so adamant about his nomination.
