1. Actually, "math literacy" is part of the ed industry's jargon.

but I am sure that word is much too difficult for the chimp to either understand or pronounce.

All of the professional development crap that is stuffed in my mailbox talks about "math literacy."

and how teachers talk are two different things. Surely you realize that.

I prefer the term 'competent in Math'. Makes a lot more sense to me.
