bush usually goes out to do followups after big speeches, not this time

generally after his 'major policy speeches' he goes right out the next day and hammers it home again in front of adoring crowds.

but a talking head pointed out that bush is hiding today, allowing his message to gel with the people in fuckover land.

or could it be that he was told to stay home because it went so poorly. and the overall tone of the speech with the weird silence was seen as depressing and stark. it was his weirdest speech to date. and his shittiest.
