| Why I think these debates are stupid, and I'm not watchin no more |
|
They aren't debates. It's a ten way interview as far as I'm concerned. And each person only gets one minute to answer the question anyways. So it's a bad interview.
Until this field gets narrowed down to four or five people, I don't really think it's worth watching. I can watch any candidate give a one minute soundbite on cspan.

| 1. well, you said you was leavin' DU till the election too |
|
and we see how that turned out. :)
unfortunately, the term 'debate' is misused in the context of these 'mass interviews'. but they seem to be a workble enough forum for the candidates to get their message out. and considering the RW strangle on the media, be thankful for what exposure they can get.
don't view them 'debates' and you won't disappointed.

You're always going on about Clark.....just check him out...and look at the rest.....Whine, Whine......whatever....What's wrong with you to post such a "defeatist" kind of thing as "what you said." sheesh!

| 3. I agree that they're not "debates," but I'll keep watching. |
|
They're really more like a platform in which candidates can flesh-out their ideas, get their faces on television and into the minds of voters, and attack the current President. Concerning the latter, I'd say all ten hit a home run today.
I do think it's pointless, silly and inaccurate to declare a "winner" or "loser" in this kind of format. The only loser today was George W. McFlightSuit.

that was the best handled, most informed debate on television, that I have seen in 20 years. The format wasn't head-to-head but the questioners knew who had problems with who, what the issues were and asked proper questions. Fast, informed and fair. chimp wouldn't last for a second. Williams and Co. should be proud. Ideal? No. Above average? Absolutely.

| 5. sgr--it isn't the debates as such...it's something more leathal & I don't |

think the people here realize it. It's great to hear and see all these people but there are two things that are deadly: 1) the whores asking the questions who can also control the debate time and cut people out. Remember none of these people can talk "without permission" and they tonight gave a lot more "permission" to some than others. The sin of omission--and then they can claim that the "omitted" didn't do well. 2) No one is listening. We know that. But these whores build it up as a great moment, manipulate who can even talk, do a post-discussion analysis and declare that people that they never let talked were "duds", and thus THESE WHORES decide who will go on in the race and who will be elimianted. And one of the most stupid things here at DU is the celebrating of anyone who says "oh, my god, the whores say my guy won".........you dumb fools....do you really belive that??....wait until it's time to kill your man and watch you scream. It's coming. If you can't see that, your dumber than whaleshit.

| 6. There are a little over 13 months to the general election |
|
and around four months to the first primary. I didn't watch South Carolina or tonight. I think there was another one I missed. Its mostly a waste of time and money to go at it this early. I going to devote my time to watching Bush screw up the perfectly good world he inherited from Clinton. I don't think I will be disappointed. The Bushies make the gang that couldn't shoot straight look like Annie Oakley.
