Did anybody get their call from Homeland Security???

A bunch of Duers suggested I post a thread to let you guys know what happen to me and see if any other DUers got the call I got!!!

I was out of town and came home and on my message machine was a call from an agency I think called NCIS... they are contracted by Homeland Security to get a list of First Responders and then the word enroll took me back... It was a 1 800 number and this was a Dallas Health dept. in conjunction with the Office of Homeland Security wanted the list ready incase a Bioterror or other accident!!! I live a helluva long way from Dallas more than 6 hours and what kind of a First Responder could I be...responding though it wasn't said just call and enroll... on the website... www.ncsenroll.com I think thats the address going to look now...

I just was wondering did anybody else get the call...

since 1998. The natural disaster/terrorism response team I'm peripherally involved with today has been in existence for over 15 years. Don't let everything creep you out. Sometimes its just citizens looking out for each other -- sometimes altruistically, sometimes for cash.

Apparently if state and local governments don't pass compliance with this, even though it isn't fleshed out yet, they can't get federal grants in the future... and there's a deadline for compliance.

what is surprising is its Dallas ... I'm surprised it wasn't Austin but she said it was in correlation with Homeland Seccurity!!!
